Healthy Living: How About Some Exercise This Week

It’s Tuesday and I know the first thing on your mind is healthy living, mm hmm. You made it through the fun (what planet am I from?) strife, stress, crash and burn of a Monday.

You still have 5 whole days left in the week to exercise your way to healthy living.  I went to the gym last night and did some laps because I was determined that Monday itself was not going to be the sole priority.

No, I’m hardly the next Michael Phelps, not by a long shot,not even in my own imagination.I love swimming and my goal is to stay consistent with it.

I ‘drag’ myself to the gym, mandated to get in the pool and begin the first lap, already thinking, how long will it be before I complete the last lap of the evening. Is it possible to read ‘The Power Of Now’ while swimming in order to stay present?

The submersion in the water began and my arms lifts forward, one at a time, as each arm goes back down in a cycle of back and forth, up and down the lane.

Something happens for me during this whole process, the water, outdoors, blue sky, muscles reinvigorated and mind renewed through endorphin release.

How I feel when I get out of the pool versus when I first got in is a 180* turnaround.

Choose the exercise that works for you. I have mentioned it before, get out of your head and go do it. The gym, walking in your neighborhood, sit-ups on your living room floor. Just start.

You know, you’ve done it. Exercise is a mental, physical and spiritual process of fitness, health, restoration and renewal, that happens through the power of physical movement. Start moving and chalk up another step to healthy living.
