A ‘Where Is Your Life Going?’ Article
Where are you going in life? Who are you becoming? What are you doing? Questions we all ask ourselves over and over again. My personal favorites are ‘why am I here?’ and ‘what does all this mean?’ How the hell should I know, is my immediate response!
You may be reading this with your first cup of coffee on the West Coast, in your office on the East Coast, at the completion of your work day in London or in the dark hours of night somewhere in Asia. Pondering, actually racking your brains out is more like it, on where are you going?
It is the beginning of the first full weekend of a new month, albeit the last full month of a summer soon to be gone. So where are you with the goals you set for yourself during New Year’s 2010? …………Uhhhhhhhhhhhh.
You need to pick up the pieces and start fresh today on the commitment(s) you made a few short months ago. Nobody is watching, but you, and that is the scariest part of all. We are our worse critic and judge.
You run into hours, days and weeks of stagnation, despair and feeling hopeless. Wondering how you took this detour? Who hasn’t? Every great leader on earth has hit the brick wall of ‘where is your life going?’ You are in great company.
Take the first step today! No matter how long the road is, the first step is the hardest. Whether it is writing out a plan, changing the course of your life, picking up the phone, walking out the door, swimming the first lap, doing something different, or saying I care.
Ultimately it is you who has to take up the mantle of action and move forward as the driver of your life. Action does speak louder than words. Recognize today is a new day, a new beginning, take a deep breath, say a prayer and begin right where you are.
Life moves forward with every step you take. Action is energy, enthusiasm comes to your life by what you are doing, and the world will move with you.
Millions of us everywhere, everyday, every hour, ponder the same thoughts, think about where are we going and what is next? Give your self credit and realize you are a great person. I may not know you personally yet, but I’m your biggest fan.
You are smart, bright, brilliant and creative beyond any concept that you have of yourself. You have strength within you to meet any and all challenges. How do I know that? I see it in people everyday. I see it by the sheer evidence that we are still here.
Be the best in all that you do, Chad
